Saturday, April 14th

As many of you may know, this July the Big Bear Theatre Project will present 6 performances of the Pulitzer Prize winning American drama, “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder. The performances will be held on July 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, and 14 at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center.

In preparation for the production, OPEN AUDITIONS will be held on April 14, 2018 at The Other Room, 1116 W. Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear City. While some principle roles are filled, the show features a large cast of men and women of all ages, some of whom will read to understudy principle players. Those who audition on the 14th should be aware that, if call backs are necessary, they will be held on the 15th at the same place. All auditions are by appointment only.

“Our Town” will be the Season Opener for the Big Bear Theatre project which has produced a wide variety of productions since its establishment in 2012. This production will be directed by Beth Wheat and produced by Steve Cassling and Ty Warren. Brian Adams will be the Production Supervisor.

The Big Bear Theatre Project is excited to celebrate the 80th anniversary of what is widely considered to be one of the finest American plays ever written. Director Beth Wheat intends to “honor the original in every detail and celebrate the striking similarities between the fictional Grover’s Corner and our own charming small town life in Big Bear”.

For more information or to schedule an appointment to audition, please contact Steve Cassling at (310) 266-6737.

Those interested in working on the crew or volunteering in any capacity can also contact Cassling at the same number.
